Scratches (or Grease Heel) on Horses

Scratches or Grease Heal as the old timers used to call it, is a mange-like inflammation of the posterior surface of the horses fetlock. This condition is mostly confined to the hind legs. Treatment consists of placing the affected horse in a clean stall or paddock. Clipping the hair close in the affected area. Then use soap and water to cleanse the area. We have found that "SOA + Itch Be Gone" bar soap to work wonders on this ailment. It will penetrate deep into the affected area. It will stop Pruritus and rubbing cycles. it will sooth raw skin as well as soften it producing a speedy recovery.
