Name: Gracie Breed: 16 year old Appendix Quarter Horse Discipline: Hunters Owner: Sarah VanDyke
I found Gracie while casually browsing through horses on equine.com. While you never know what you’ll find online, it turns out she was actually owned by an old acquaintance! She has definitely found her niche in the hunter ring, and given me so many wonderful opportunities these past few years. We train with USHJA-certified trainer Andrew Ross, and compete on the local rated circuit. She has also been used for some therapeutic lessons, and even dressed up as a racehorse for a fancy Kentucky Derby party. Her affection is easily bought with peppermints!
Product: Horseware Ireland Competition Jacket
This jacket is so much nicer than the older “traditional” show jackets. The fabric is lightweight, stretchy, and cool in the summer. The fit is also very flattering & slimming. The fact that it can be tossed in the washer is icing on the cake! The zipper pockets are also great for hair nets, gloves, treats, etc. I get so many compliments on this jacket!
Product: Exselle Elite Fancy Square Raised Bridle
The mid-brown color matches my saddle perfectly, and makes Gracie’s head look even more beautiful (is that possible?!). Plus, the leather is very soft & seems to stay clean – after a long day of showing, the bridle still looks nice. Gracie is usually between a horse & cob size, and the cob size fits perfectly. This bridle would be at home in any hunter ring in the country! ... I could go on!
